Indelible Grace Music is a collective known for its role in the contemporary Christian music scene, specifically within the movement known as the "Rethuned Hymn" movement which seeks to set old hymn texts to new music. The project was born out of the college ministry of Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) at Belmont University, where minister Kevin Twit started to rework classic hymns to resonate with the students in a more contemporary worship setting. Since their inception in the late 1990s, Indelible Grace Music has grown to include musicians and contributors from various universities, all united in the mission to bridge the gap between traditional hymnody and contemporary worship.
Their catalog, rich with theological depth and historical resonance, continues to expand as they adapt and arrange old hymn texts, ensuring that these powerful songs retain their spirit and meaning while gaining new life in modern melodies. Albums such as "Joy Beyond the Sorrow: Indelible Grace VI" and "Look to Jesus: Indelible Grace VII" highlight their passion for heartfelt worship through the restoration of hymn classics, presenting these treasures anew to a generation eager to find ancient anchors in a turbulent time. With a live recording experience captured in "The Hymn Sing (Live in Nashville)," Indelible Grace Music not only preserves the tradition of hymn singing but also encourages communal worship, bringing a timeless practice to contemporary listeners with reverence and creativity.
