Xalpen

Xalpen is a Chilean black metal band formed in 2014, hailing from Santiago. The band is led by Juan Pablo Núñez (guitar & vocals) and Alvaro Lillo (bass & vocals), who are the core members behind the music and lyrics. Xalpen's style is deeply rooted in shamanic and occult themes, drawing inspiration from ancient traditions and mythology. Their music is characterized by its raw and aggressive sound, blending brutality with a sense of euphoria and mysticism.

Xalpen has released several albums, including **"Black Rites"**, **"Sawken Xo´on"**, and more recently, **"The Curse of Kwányep"**. The band's name is derived from Selk´nam mythology, referring to the goddess of the underworld, symbolizing chaos and darkness. Xalpen's music is a reflection of their spiritual and musical devotion, aiming to connect with listeners who share similar extreme musical and spiritual interests. They are currently associated with the Swedish label Black Lodge/Sound Pollution.
