Vincenzo Di Betta

Vincenzo Di Betta is a prominent Italian musician, born on January 17, 1975, in Agrigento. He is a versatile artist who excels as a singer, organist, and choir conductor. Di Betta's musical journey began at the tender age of ten when he first encountered the pipe organ at Agrigento's Cathedral, under the guidance of Mons. Calogero Costanza. He further honed his skills in organ music with Franco Vito Gaiezza, completed his studies in Zurich, and also studied lyrical singing in Palermo with Elvira Maiorca. His passion for Renaissance and Baroque Italian music has led to numerous collaborations, including work with the ensemble Elyma and performances at prominent institutions like the Teatro Massimo Bellini and Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. In 2011, he founded "La Cantoria," whose work focuses on performing lesser-known compositions from the 17th century.

Vincenzo Di Betta has been involved in several notable recordings, including works by Bonaventura Rubino, Orazio Benevoli, and Francesco Giovannini. His latest release includes Giovannini's "Messa a Quattro Breve Concertata," which showcases his deep appreciation for early classical music. Currently, Di Betta serves as the Maestro di Cappella and organist of the Church of Santa Maria in Portico in Campitelli, Rome, and is a regular artist with the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma's choir. His contributions to classical music highlight a strong dedication to preserving and promoting Italian musical heritage from the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
