Ima Robot is a genre-blending indie rock band hailing from Los Angeles, California. Formed in the late 1990s by frontman Alex Ebert, who later gained wider recognition with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Ima Robot carved out a unique sound that mixes elements of punk, electro, glam, and new wave. Their self-titled debut album dropped in 2003 and featured energetic, quirky tracks like “Dynomite” and “Song #1,” which helped them gain a cult following.
They followed up with Monument to the Masses in 2006, showcasing a more polished and expansive sound, and in 2010 released Another Man’s Treasure, which leaned into more experimental and psychedelic vibes. One of their standout tracks, “Greenback Boogie,” became widely known as the theme song for the TV show Suits. Though the band’s activity has slowed down over time, Ima Robot remains a beloved name among fans of offbeat, danceable rock.
