Juan Son

Juan Son is a Mexican musician and singer-songwriter, whose real name is Juan Carlos Pereda. He is known for his eclectic and avant-garde approach to music, which often incorporates a blend of different genres, languages, and philosophical themes. He first rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of the Mexican experimental rock band Porter, which gained a significant following in the mid-2000s with their unique blend of rock, electronic, and Mexican folk music.

After the band's hiatus in 2008, Juan Son embarked on a solo career, releasing his first album "Mermaid Sashimi" in 2009, which further showcased his distinctive artistic style and lyrical complexity. His solo work continues to be characterized by its imaginative experimentation and introspective content, themes that are evident in his more recent releases such as "Las Milkshakes también lloran" and "La Monja de Burbujas". Juan Son's music often delves into personal and existential questions, delivered through a combination of poetic lyrics, whimsical storytelling, and a broad sonic palette that includes everything from pop and electronic to more traditional Mexican elements. As of the time of writing, he continues to be an influential figure in the Mexican alternative music scene, captivating audiences with both his recorded work and dynamic live performances, which often include live renditions of popular tracks like "Rompiendo" and "La Montaña Fria".
