Cheikh MC

Cheikh MC, born Abderémane Cheikh on August 12, 1978, in Moroni, Comoros, is a pioneering Comorian rapper. He began his music career at a young age and co-founded the first rap group in Moroni, "Les Pirates du Mika," in 1995. After the group disbanded, Cheikh MC continued as a solo artist, forming "La Bande à Cheikh" and later "Cheikh Prod." He is known for his influential role in developing hip-hop in the Comoros and has collaborated with artists from the diaspora in France, such as 3ème Œil and Psy 4 de la rime. Cheikh MC has released notable albums like "Tout Haut" in 2005 and "Enfant du tiers monde" in 2010. His music often addresses social issues and has been well-received in the Comoros and beyond.

Cheikh MC's music career includes performances in the Indian Ocean region and appearances on international platforms like RFI and TV5 Monde. He has also been involved in social causes, serving as an ambassador for UNICEF and advocating against HIV/AIDS through his music.
