Dresden Kreuzchor

The Dresden Kreuzchor is one of the oldest and most renowned boys’ choirs in the world, with a history that dates back over 800 years. Based in Dresden, Germany, this prestigious ensemble is closely associated with the Kreuzkirche (Church of the Holy Cross), and plays a central role in the city’s historic and cultural life. The choir is known for its deep-rooted tradition in sacred and classical music, performing works by composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Heinrich Schütz, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Comprising around 150 boys and young men, the Kreuzchor tours internationally and appears regularly in concerts, operas, and recordings. In addition to their musical education, members of the choir attend a specialized school, the Kreuzschule, which supports both academic and artistic excellence. With its timeless musicality and commitment to choral tradition, the Dresden Kreuzchor remains a cherished symbol of German choral artistry.
