Mombu is a Japanese noise music project that has been active since 1997. The project is the brainchild of Masami Akita, who is also known for his work with the bands Merzbow and Boredoms. Mombu's music is characterized by its harsh, abrasive soundscapes and its use of found objects and field recordings. The project has released over 100 albums and has toured extensively throughout the world.
