Dreamers' Circus

Dreamers' Circus is a dynamic and innovative trio whose music is characterized by a genre-blending tapestry, fusing classical, folk, and contemporary elements. Comprising Danish instrumentalists Rune Tonsgaard Sørensen, who also plays with the Danish String Quartet, on piano and violin; Ale Carr from Sweden on the Nordic cittern; and Danish-Norwegian Nikolaj Busk on piano and accordion, the group has been at the forefront of the Nordic folk and world music scene since their formation in 2009.

The ensemble rose to prominence after an impromptu jam session at a folk music party in Copenhagen set the stage for their collaboration. Since then, they have established themselves with a powerful mix of virtuosity and innovation, as illustrated in their releases such as "A Little Symphony" and "Second Movement," which showcase their ability to merge classical music structures with the freedom of folk music. Dreamers' Circus is known for their engaging live performances and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the prestigious Carl Prisen as Composer of the Year in 2014 and the Danish Music Award for Album of the Year in 2016. Through albums like "Rooftop Sessions" and "Blue White Gold," they continue to expand the boundaries of Nordic folk music, inviting listeners to join them in their exploratory musical journey.
