Mora Prokaza is an avant-garde black metal duo from Belarus, formed in 2013 by Farmakon (guitars, vocals) and Isvind (drums). The band's name roughly translates to "sea of leprosy," reflecting their visceral musical style. Isvind left the group shortly after their debut album, and Hatestorm joined as the new drummer in 2015. With Hatestorm, Mora Prokaza explored new musical horizons, incorporating elements of new school black metal and trap rap, creating a unique blend of aggression and philosophical themes. Their music often features lyrical venom delivered in their native language, setting them apart from traditional black metal aesthetics.
Mora Prokaza released several albums, including "By Chance" in 2020, which showcased their ability to blend extreme metal with avant-garde elements. The duo gained recognition for their intense style and unconventional approach to black metal, which they described as new school black metal. The band was previously signed to Season of Mist but is no longer listed as active with the label. Despite this, they continue to create daring and provocative music that challenges traditional genre boundaries.
