Skylark Vocal Ensemble

Skylark Vocal Ensemble is an acclaimed chamber choir known for their meticulously crafted performances and offering exceptional artistry in vocal music. Founded in 2011 by Artistic Director Matthew Guard, Skylark has quickly gained a reputation for their polished sound and sensitive interpretations of a wide range of repertoire, specializing in a cappella music from the Renaissance to the present day. Based in the United States, the ensemble consists of some of the finest ensemble singers from across the country, many of whom are soloists in their own right, with experience on national and international stages in opera and concert work.

Skylark's passion for storytelling through music has led them to craft thematic programs that connect with audiences on an intimate and emotional level. Their commitment to exploring the human experience through song is echoed in their diverse and innovative projects. Skylark's discography reflects this artistic drive, with releases like "Sauntering Songs (Live)" and the hauntingly beautiful "Crossing Over", which explores themes of life and afterlife. Their holiday-themed albums such as "A Christmas Carol" and "A Century of Carols (Live)" are a festive highlight, showcasing the ensemble's versatility and ability to capture the spirit of the season through their nuanced renderings of familiar and lesser-known carols. These recordings, alongside their other projects such as "Once Upon a Time" and "Forgotten Dreams", exhibit Skylark's dedication to reinterpretation and the celebration of choral music's rich tapestry.
