Signe Asmussen is a Danish mezzosoprano singer born in 1970 in Copenhagen. She comes from a musical family and began learning to sing and play the violin at an early age. Asmussen studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, graduating as a soloist in 2001. She is known for her versatility, performing in classical concerts, chamber music, opera, and even Latin jazz. Asmussen has appeared in notable venues such as London's Wigmore Hall and Amsterdam's Concertgebouw. She has also been part of several ensembles, including The Tolkien Ensemble and has performed with prominent orchestras and pianists. In 2009, she received the Aksel Schiøtz prize for her excellence as a lieder singer.
