Steven Vanhauwaert is a Belgian pianist and harpsichordist who has made a name for himself as a leading interpreter of early music. Born in 1964, Vanhauwaert studied at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland. He has performed extensively throughout Europe, North America, and Asia, and has recorded over 50 albums for labels such as Harmonia Mundi, Alpha Classics, and Erato. Vanhauwaert is known for his sensitive and nuanced playing, as well as his deep understanding of the historical context of the music he performs.
