Lucy Pearl was a short-lived but influential jazz supergroup formed in 1999. The trio consisted of vocalist Raphael Saadiq, keyboardist Ali Shaheed Muhammad (of A Tribe Called Quest), and drummer Dawn Robinson (of En Vogue). Their self-titled debut album, released in 2000, was a critical and commercial success, blending elements of soul, jazz, and hip-hop. The album featured the hit singles "Don't Mess With My Man" and "Talk," and earned the group a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. Despite their success, Lucy Pearl disbanded in 2002, with each member pursuing solo projects.
