**Surf Dads** are a laid-back San Diego trio blending surf rock twang with indie charm. Formed in 2014 by Mikey Cannon (vocals/guitar), Steve Fisher (bass), and Alex Johnson (drums), their sound captures coastal California vibes—think sun-bleached melodies, nostalgic lyrics about late-night Denny’s runs (“Denny’s EP”), and endless summer daydreams (“Summer Vacation - EP”). Over the years, they’ve evolved from breezy garage-pop (“A Nice Boy”) to moodier, riff-driven grooves (“Dark Dads”), all while keeping their DIY spirit alive through relentless touring and collaborations with fellow SoCal acts like The Frights.
