TOTO

TOTO is an American rock band that formed in 1977 in Los Angeles, California. The band's lineup has included some of the most seasoned session musicians in the industry, with its founding members being keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, guitarist Steve Lukather, keyboardist Steve Porcaro, and lead vocalist Bobby Kimball. Over the years, TOTO has undergone numerous lineup changes but has consistently been anchored by Lukather's guitar work and vocals. TOTO's music is typified by a fusion of rock, pop, jazz, and rhythm and blues, contributing to their distinctive sound which has enjoyed widespread popularity.

TOTO is perhaps best known for their hit singles in the late '70s and '80s like "Hold the Line," "Rosanna," and the iconic "Africa," the latter of which experienced a resurgence in popularity in the digital age, introducing the band to a new generation of listeners. Throughout their career, TOTO has released 14 studio albums, including the celebrated "Toto IV" which earned them multiple Grammy Awards. Their recent projects such as "Toto XIV" reflect the band’s enduring ability to blend complex arrangements with memorable melodies. Despite the passing of founding member Jeff Porcaro in 1992, the band continued to tour and record, releasing live albums like "40 Tours Around The Sun" and "With A Little Help From My Friends," which capture the dynamic energy of their performances and showcase their proficiency as a live act. Despite their veteran status, TOTO's music has remained relevant in the rock scene, securing their legacy as one of the defining acts of their genre.
