Dudu Faruk

Dudu Faruk is the stage name of Ori Comay, an Israeli rapper, singer, and actor. Born on October 21, 1996, he grew up in the Ma'oz Aviv neighborhood of Tel Aviv. Comay created the persona "Dudu Faruk" initially as a parody Instagram account in 2013 while in high school. He later began recording and releasing music under this character, blending trap with Mizrahi music. His lyrics are known for being blunt and often include explicit references to violence and sex, yet also incorporate humor. Faruk gained online virality around 2017 with his independent video clips. However, his career faced controversy and a setback after a live TV interview in 2019, where he was pressured to reveal his real identity. Despite this, he has continued to produce music, releasing albums like "Osef Hachashmal" in 2018 and "Shhh..." in 2021.

Dudu Faruk's music style and persona have been both popular and controversial, especially among younger audiences. His adoption of the "Ars" trope, a stereotype associated with certain Israeli subcultures, has been criticized for its potential offensiveness.
