Abuse Of Power

Abuse of Power emerged from the fertile grounds of Atlanta’s hardcore punk scene, distinguished by their ability to blend the intensity of hardcore with a unique introspective and socially aware lyrical stance. Formed in the mid-2010s, the band quickly gained recognition for their commanding live performances and vintage hardcore aesthetic that hark back to the genre's golden era of the 80s and 90s. With a lineup that has evolved over the years, their sound has remained cohesive and poignant, fueled by a mix of urgency and passion for the issues they tackle.

The band’s musical journey is marked by a series of impactful releases, showcasing their evolving sound and solidifying their place in the hardcore scene. Their first 'Demo 2016' set the stage, with a raw energy and uncompromising approach that garnered them a dedicated following. Follow-up releases 'When Then Becomes Now' and 'What On Earth Can We Do' further exhibited the band's growth in both songwriting and thematic complexity. With 'What On Earth Can We Do', Abuse of Power pushed into new territories, both musically and ideologically, questioning personal and social responsibilities within a world in flux. Despite the aggressive tone often associated with their music, the messages in their songs invite reflection and inspire action, cementing Abuse of Power as a significant voice within contemporary hardcore.
