Reverend Beat-Man

Reverend Beat-Man is a Swiss rock 'n' roll preacher and one-man band known for his gritty blend of garage punk, blues, rockabilly, and gospel trash. Born Beat Zeller in Bern, Switzerland, he began his musical career in the 1980s and gained cult status as the frontman of The Monsters. Under the Reverend Beat-Man persona, he's cultivated a raw, lo-fi sound infused with wild energy and a theatrical, sermon-like stage presence. His music often explores themes of sin, salvation, and the darker corners of human existence—with a dose of humor and surrealism thrown in for good measure.

In addition to his solo work and time with The Monsters, Reverend Beat-Man is also the founder of Voodoo Rhythm Records, a fiercely independent label that champions underground and outsider music from around the world. His albums, like “Blues Trash” and “Baile Bruja Muerto” (a collaboration with Nicole Izobel Garcia), reflect his love for primitive rock ‘n’ roll, fuzzed-out guitar riffs, and chaotic, stripped-down production. Whether performing in a sweaty club or releasing records on analog formats, Reverend Beat-Man is a relentless force in keeping raw garage rock and punk spirit alive.
