Brodequin

Brodequin is an American death metal band that emerged from the depths of the underground metal scene in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 1998. Known for their relentless brutality and dark historical themes, the band's name itself derives from a medieval French instrument of torture. Brodequin's music delves into the macabre, exploring the grim narratives of historical executions, torture, and the morbid fascination with death.

Their 2000 debut album, "Instruments of Torture," set the tone for the group's raw and uncompromising sound, which has been consistently maintained through subsequent releases. Followed by the blood-curdling "Festival of Death" in 2001, Brodequin solidified their place in the extreme metal genre with their rapid-fire blast beats, guttural vocals, and technical guitar work. The band's third album, "Methods of Execution," released in 2004, continues to showcase their fascination with the macabre themes and torturous history of humanity. After a period of inactivity, Brodequin returned with the much-anticipated EP "Perpetuation of Suffering" in 2021, reaffirming their commitment to producing savage and pummeling death metal, much to the delight of their cult following. Brodequin's gruesome narratives and sonic aggression have earned them a distinct place in the annals of extreme music, where they continue to inspire both horror and awe with their musical depictions of humanity's darkest inclinations.
