Edin Karamazov

Edin Karamazov is a renowned Bosnian lutenist known for his wide-ranging repertoire and collaborations that bridge genres and centuries. A master of the lute, archlute, and baroque guitar, Karamazov has earned acclaim for his expressive performances of early music as well as his ventures into more contemporary territory. He's perhaps best known to many listeners for teaming up with Sting on the 2006 album Songs from the Labyrinth, which featured the music of Renaissance composer John Dowland and introduced a new audience to the delicate beauty of the lute.

Educated at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, Karamazov has played with prominent early music ensembles and developed a solo career that showcases both technical brilliance and emotional depth. His albums often mix classical and folk influences, and recent releases include interpretations of works by Bach, Schubert, and Haydn, as well as his own inspired arrangements of traditional and popular songs. Whether performing centuries-old masterpieces or reimagining songs by The Beatles, Karamazov brings a distinctive voice and deep musical insight to everything he plays.
