Zepter is a fresh-faced traditional heavy metal band hailing from Linz, Austria, who kicked things off in January 2024 when a group of longtime pals—already seasoned from jamming in other projects—decided to channel their love for classic sounds into something new. Guitarist/vocalist Lukas Götzenberger, alongside guitarist Stefan Bolda, bassist Tobias Hochwagen, and drummer Alex Nemeth (who also handles vocals on their cover of "Lonely Night" by obscure Swedish band Screem), wasted no time: just months later, they dropped their debut EP *Inferno* on limited cassette, followed by vinyl and CD editions.
Their self-titled full-length debut hit the streets on February 20, 2026, via High Roller Records, packing eight killer tracks like "Slasher on the Highway," "Hit the Streets," "Dark Angels," and "The Lords" that scream NWOBHM vibes with nods to Thin Lizzy, UFO, Heavy Load, and early speed metal razor riffs. Lyrically inspired by '80s Italian horror flicks, it's got that raw, analog punch—twin guitars dueling over tight rhythms—that feels like a time machine to the golden era of leather, sweat, and cranked amps. If you're into no-nonsense heavy metal anthems, these guys are your new obsession.
