Mariachi El Bronx is the alter ego of the Los Angeles punk band The Bronx. While The Bronx is known for their high-energy punk rock sound, Mariachi El Bronx takes a completely different musical direction, performing in the traditional mariachi style—complete with vihuelas, trumpets, and violins, all backed by passionate vocals and lush arrangements. The band first introduced this surprising side project in 2007 and released their debut Mariachi El Bronx album in 2009. Since then, they've released several albums under the Mariachi El Bronx name, each continuing to explore and celebrate mariachi music with authenticity and creativity.
