MGMT, originally founded as "The Management," is an American psychedelic pop and electronic rock duo renowned for blending an assortment of musical genres with avant-garde sensibilities. The band was established in 2002 by Benjamin Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden during their undergraduate years at Wesleyan University. MGMT catapulted to prominence with their 2007 debut album "Oracular Spectacular," which featured the massive hit singles "Kids," "Time to Pretend," and "Electric Feel." The album not only earned them a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist but also left an indelible mark on the indie music scene with its innovative sound and catchy, yet thought-provoking lyrics.

Despite the mainstream success garnered with their debut, MGMT has often eschewed conventional pop formulas in favor of exploring more experimental sonic territories in their subsequent releases. This includes albums like "Congratulations" (2010), "MGMT" (2013), and "Little Dark Age" (2018).
