Last Crack

Last Crack is a progressive metal band from Madison, Wisconsin, originally forming in the late 1980s. Known for their unique blend of heavy riffs, alternative rock sensibilities, and experimental sounds, they quickly carved out a cult following in the underground metal scene. Their 1991 release, Burning Time, produced by the legendary Dave Jerden (Alice in Chains, Jane’s Addiction), is widely considered their defining work, showcasing the band’s offbeat yet melodic approach and the theatrical vocals of frontman Buddo.

Although mainstream breakthrough eluded them, Last Crack earned critical acclaim for their originality and energetic performances. After a long hiatus following their early '90s run, the band reunited years later and released The Up Rising in 2019, reminding fans of their dynamic blend of intensity and innovation. They remain a beloved staple of niche metal circles, celebrated for their artistic ambition and enduring underground spirit.
