MiQ

MiQ, originally known as MIO, is a celebrated Japanese pop singer and vocal trainer born in 1955 in Tokyo. She gained recognition primarily for her distinctive, throaty, and soulful voice, which stood out in the anime music scene of the 1980s. MiQ is especially known for singing theme songs for classic Sunrise anime such as *Combat Mecha Xabungle*, *Aura Battler Dunbine*, *Heavy Metal L-Gaim*, *Star Musketeer Bismark*, and *Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory*. Influenced by iconic soul artists like Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, and Chaka Khan, MiQ's vocal style brought a unique depth to the anison genre. Fluent in English, she has performed English versions of some of her songs, highlighting her versatility as a vocalist.
