Øyvind Morken

Øyvind Morken is a prominent figure in Oslo's vibrant music scene, particularly known for his work as a resident DJ at the legendary Jaeger club. He has been instrumental in shaping the city's alternative dance floor landscape, especially through his long-running residency, Untzdag, which he co-founded with Gaute Haaversen-Westhassel. Untzdag was celebrated for its eclectic mix of genres, ranging from disco to techno, and Morken's unique "schizophrenic" DJ style, which seamlessly blended diverse musical elements. After concluding the Untzdag residency, Morken continues to be a resident at Jaeger, focusing on fewer but more significant events. He is also recognized for his diverse musical tastes and productions on various labels, showcasing his versatility as a musical chameleon.

Morken's journey into music began early, influenced by Kraftwerk and other eclectic sounds. He started DJing at a young age and developed a broad musical palette, often mixing genres like Basic Channel with disco and funk. His recent releases reflect his creative depth and experimentation in electronic music. As part of the collaborative project Wild Flowers, he has further explored his eclectic style, contributing to the dynamic electronic music scene in Scandinavia.
