Mr. Cheeks

Mr. Cheeks, born Terrance Kelly on March 28, 1971, in South Jamaica, Queens, New York, is a prominent figure in the hip-hop scene, widely celebrated for his distinctive raspy voice and authentic storytelling. He gained major recognition in the early '90s as a member of the influential hip-hop group Lost Boyz, alongside Freaky Tah, DJ Spigg Nice, and Pretty Lou. The group's debut album, "Legal Drug Money" (1996), produced several hits, including "Renee" and "Lifestyles of the Rich and Shameless", cementing their place in hip-hop history with a blend of relatable storytelling and catchy hooks.

Following the tragic death of bandmate Freaky Tah in 1999, Mr. Cheeks ventured into a solo career, achieving considerable success with his album "John P. Kelly" (2001). The album featured the hit single "Lights, Camera, Action!", which not only soared on the charts but also showcased Mr. Cheeks' versatility and charisma as a solo artist. Over the years, he has consistently released music that remains true to his roots in the realms of hip-hop and urban tales, as seen in his recent singles like "In My Zone", "Sexuation", and "Where I'm From". Mr. Cheeks' ongoing influence and relevance in the music industry underscore his adaptability and enduring appeal to hip-hop enthusiasts worldwide.
