Blindside is a post-hardcore band hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, known for their potent combination of emotive vocals, heavy guitar riffs, and deeply personal lyrics. Formed in 1994 by friends Christian Lindskog (vocals), Simon Grenehed (guitar), Tomas Näslund (bass), and Marcus Dahlström (drums), they quickly garnered a dedicated following within the Swedish underground scene. Over time, their sound evolved, amalgamating elements of punk, metal, and alternative rock which allowed them to break into international markets.
Their self-titled debut album, "Blindside", was released in 1997, but it was their subsequent albums, such as "A Thought Crushed My Mind" and "Silence", that propelled them into the limelight. Gaining traction in the United States, they found themselves touring with high-profile acts and even featured on major festival bills. The mid-2000s saw the band hitting their stride with albums like "The Great Depression" (2005) and "About A Burning Fire" (2004), showcasing their adeptness at crafting both aggressive and melodic tracks. The band's relentless energy and reflective songwriting truly shone on singles like "Pitiful" and "Sleepwalking." Despite going on a hiatus in 2007, the passion of Blindside's members never waned, leading to a triumphant return with "With Shivering Hearts We Wait" in 2011. The release was a testament to their enduring spirit and musical evolution, earning them continued respect within the post-hardcore community.
