Bobby Wellins

Bobby Wellins is a British saxophonist, composer, and arranger known for his contributions to jazz music. Born in London in 1936, Wellins began playing the saxophone at a young age and quickly gained recognition for his exceptional talent. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with renowned musicians such as John Dankworth, Cleo Laine, and Stan Tracey, and has released numerous critically acclaimed albums, including "Time Gentlemen, Please" and "Tracey / Wellins Play Monk." Wellins' music is characterized by its lyrical melodies, harmonic sophistication, and improvisational brilliance, making him one of the most respected and influential saxophonists in British jazz.
