Sreevalsan J. Menon

Sreevalsan J. Menon is an accomplished Indian Carnatic vocalist and music composer from Kerala. Born in Thrissur, he hails from Kunissery in the Palakkad district. Menon began his musical journey under the guidance of Rajalakshmi Krishnan and later trained in the traditional Gurukula style under Neyyatinkara Vasudevan for 18 years. He is renowned for his innovative musical albums, such as "Vanaprastham" and "Monsoon Anuraga," which blend classical elements with contemporary themes. Menon has performed globally and holds a prestigious 'A' TOP grade at All India Radio. Apart from his music career, he is also a professor at the Kerala Agricultural University and has a Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension.

Professionally, Menon is known for his fusion of Carnatic music with elements of nature and culture, exploring the intersection of folk arts and agricultural practices. He has directed numerous cultural and agricultural documentaries and is recognized for his work in documenting folk rituals and art forms in Kerala. His musical endeavors have been widely appreciated for their nuance and depth, making him a respected figure in the Carnatic music scene. His recent releases include "Chinathayami Devesam," "Water Lilies," and "Prathyasha," showcasing his continued contribution to the musical landscape.
