Emanuil Ivanov

Emanuil Ivanov is a Bulgarian pianist born in 1998 in Pazardzhik, where he showed a real passion for music from a young age, starting lessons around seven with Galina Daskalova and later Atanas Kurtev. He moved to the UK in 2018, grabbing a full scholarship at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with teachers like Pascal Nemirovski and Anthony Hewitt, graduating in 2024, then heading to London's Royal Academy of Music on the Bicentenary Scholarship for his Advanced Diploma under Joanna MacGregor and Christopher Elton—where he became the first Sulamita Aronovsky Piano Fellow.

The guy skyrocketed to fame with first prize at the 2019 Ferruccio Busoni Piano Competition, leading to killer debuts at spots like Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall's Weill Hall, and Munich’s Herkulessaal, plus tours across Europe, the US, Japan, and more—even a streamed solo recital at La Scala during the 2021 pandemic peak. He's dropped albums like Scarlatti sonatas on Naxos in early 2025 and Rzewski's epic *The People United Will Never Be Defeated!* for the Royal Academy series, while tackling beasts like Busoni’s piano concerto and Shostakovich’s full *Preludes and Fugues*—and yeah, he's been composing since he was a kid too.
