Miklós Sugár is a distinguished Hungarian conductor, music educator, and composer born on July 2, 1952, in Budapest. He studied conducting and composition at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where he trained under notable teachers such as Kórodi Andrásné and Emilnél Petrovich. Miklós is also the son of Rezső Sugár, a respected composer. Over his career, Miklós has held significant positions including conducting the Army Art Ensemble Symphony Orchestra from 1978 to 1984 and leading the Békéscsabai Symphony Orchestra from 1984 to 1988. He also contributed to the Hungarian Radio's music department as an editor and taught at the Theater and Film Academy in Budapest until 1991. Known for his expertise in contemporary chamber music, he founded the EAR-Ensemble (Electro-Acoustic Research) in 1991, regularly performing and promoting electro-acoustic works. His compositions and recordings reflect a broad range of styles and innovative musical explorations.
