Clifford Hayes' Louisville Stompers was an American jazz band from the 1920s. The group was led by violinist Clifford Hayes and was active in the Louisville, Kentucky area. They were one of the first jazz bands to emerge from the city and were known for their unique blend of jazz, blues, and string band music.
The band released several recordings, including "Tippin' Through", "Frog Hop", and "Blue Guitar Stomp", which showcased their energetic and lively sound. Although the band's career was relatively short-lived, their music has been rediscovered and reappreciated by jazz fans and historians in recent years, offering a fascinating glimpse into the early days of jazz in the American Midwest.
