Calliope Tsoupaki, born in 1963 in Piraeus, Greece, is a composer whose work embodies a rich tapestry of musical heritage, bridging ancient traditions with contemporary classical music. Tsoupaki studied piano and music theory in Athens before continuing her education in composition under Louis Andriessen at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where she has been based since 1988.
