Hieroglyphics, often referred to as The Hieroglyphics Crew or Hiero, is an influential collective of underground hip-hop artists from the Bay Area, California. The group was founded in the early 1990s and is known for its lyrical prowess, innovative production, and a staunchly independent approach to the music industry. Comprising rappers Del the Funky Homosapien, Casual, Pep Love, and the four members of Souls of Mischief (A-Plus, Opio, Phesto, and Tajai), Hieroglyphics has been a steadfast presence in the alternative hip-hop scene, revered for their unique contributions to the genre.

The collective's work is characterized by clever wordplay, socially conscious themes, and an esoteric—almost mystical—take on urban life, epitomized in their 1998 debut album, "3rd Eye Vision."
