Amit May Cohen

Amit May Cohen is a Los Angeles-based composer and multi-instrumentalist celebrated for her colorful and eclectic approach to scoring films and TV shows. Originally from Israel, she brings a unique blend of traditional and experimental sounds to her work, often incorporating unconventional elements like bicycle chains, mouth percussion, detuned guitars, and bird sounds. Amit’s diverse portfolio includes hybrid-orchestral comedy scores for popular Disney Channel projects such as *Zombies 2* and *Zombies 3*, as well as guitar-driven scores for documentaries like *37 Words* and *The Dreamlife of Georgie Stone*. She earned her degree at Berklee College of Music and honed her craft further at the Sundance Music and Sound Design Lab in 2018, gaining recognition with awards such as the ASCAP Emerging Film Composer Award in 2015.

Her debut EP *Volatility* (2022) showcases her adventurous sonic explorations, striking a balance between modern and traditional techniques. In 2024, she released the album *Pressure Points*, noted for its haunting atmosphere and innovative instrumentation. Aside from her solo work, Amit has contributed as an additional composer and orchestrator on high-profile projects like *Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw* and *The Sinner*. Her rich musical background ranges from early piano, alto saxophone, and jazz guitar lessons in her youth to professional collaborations with notable composers in Hollywood.
