Christie Front Drive

Christie Front Drive was a seminal emo band that emerged in the early 1990s from Denver, Colorado, and was part of the first wave of bands that defined and shaped the midwestern emo sound. Comprised of vocalist and guitarist Eric Richter, guitarist Jason Begin, bassist Kerry McDonald, and drummer Ron Marschall, Christie Front Drive was known for their emotionally charged lyrics, melodic guitar work, and heartfelt delivery, characteristics that became hallmarks of the emo genre. Despite their short lifespan from 1993 to 1997, their impact on the underground scene was significant, resonating with fans and influencing numerous bands that followed.

The band's releases, including their debut self-titled album commonly referred to as 'Stereo' and the compilation 'Anthology,' encapsulate the raw energy and introspection that defined their sound. Their music swung from intimate and soft, to loud and passionate, mirroring the dynamics of their live performances that left a lasting impression on their audiences. Christie Front Drive's works were posthumously celebrated and given new life through remastered editions, with the "First LP (2013 Remaster)" and "S/T (2010 Remaster)" offering a fresh listening experience to both long-time fans and newcomers. Although their discography is succinct, their influence extends far beyond their active years, cementing their legacy as emo pioneers.
