Clara Izambert is a gifted harpist born into a family of musicians, who began studying piano and harp at the age of eight. She was notably influenced early on by renowned harpist Marielle Nordmann, who played a key role in her artistic development. Clara has made a name for herself as both a soloist and chamber musician, performing in prestigious venues such as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and the Leipzig Opera, and has collaborated with distinguished artists and ensembles including The Quatuor Ébène and flautist Anna Besson.
She is principal harpist of the Balcon Ensemble and is deeply engaged in contemporary music and historical performance research, working alongside musicologists to revive forgotten harp repertoires from the Classical and early Romantic periods. Clara’s discography includes recordings of sacred works by Eric Lebrun and Théodore Dubois, as well as 18th-century music with groups like the Trio Dauphine. Her recent projects include recordings of Mozart’s flute concertos, featuring her as solo harpist, demonstrating her versatility and excellence in both solo and ensemble settings.
