Shrag

Shrag was an indie-pop band known for its post-punk energy and razor-sharp wit, hailing from Brighton, England. Formed in the mid-2000s, the quintet comprised Helen King on lead vocals and percussion, Stephanie Goodman on vocals and keyboards, Bob Brown on guitar and bass, Russell Warrior on bass and guitar, and Andy Pyne on drums. Their eponymous debut album, "Shrag," immediately set the tone for the group's high-octane and introspective style when it was released in 2009, followed by the catchy yet gritty "Rabbit Kids / Erratic Fiction" single, which further established their presence in the UK indie scene.

Throughout their career, Shrag delivered a succession of critically acclaimed records, demonstrating their evolution in both sound and lyrical depth. The 2010 album "Life! Death! Prizes!" showcased their knack for combining infectious melodies with emotionally resonant storytelling, making it a standout moment in their discography. Following up, their final albums, "Canines" in 2012 and "Devastating Bones" in 2013, solidified their reputation as a band with a fiercely independent spirit and a unique voice. Despite the group disbanding in 2013, Shrag's music continues to resonate with fans of smart, punk-infused indie pop, their heartfelt and energetic tracks leaving an enduring legacy.
