Dedicated Men of Zion

Dedicated Men of Zion is a gospel-soul group hailing from eastern North Carolina, blending traditional spirituals with vintage southern soul to create a powerful and heartfelt sound. The group is made up of Anthony “Peanut” Daniels, Antoine Daniels, Marcus Sugg, and Dexter Weaver—three of whom are related—and they bring a rich church music tradition into the modern soul and gospel landscape. Their harmonies and faith-driven lyrics are steeped in the sacred sounds of the Black church, while also delivering a raw, rootsy energy that resonates across genres.

Formed in the mid-2010s, Dedicated Men of Zion caught the attention of Bible & Tire Recording Co., a Memphis-based label known for reviving the soul-gospel tradition. Their 2020 debut full-length album, Can't Turn Me Around, produced by Bruce Watson (of Fat Possum Records), helped introduce their uplifting and soulful style to a wider audience. With later works like The Devil Don't Like It and Coming Up Through The Years, the group continues to explore themes of redemption, perseverance, and spiritual testimony—all delivered with a timeless groove and deep sincerity.
