Anathema is a British rock band that hails from Liverpool, formed in 1990 under the initial moniker of 'Pagan Angel.' The band consists of the Cavanagh brothers – Vincent, Daniel, and Jamie – along with John Douglas, and Lee Douglas. Initially starting as pioneers in the death/doom metal genre, Anathema underwent a significant sonic transformation over the years, transitioning through gothic metal to a more atmospheric and progressive rock sound.
