Insect Warfare is a grindcore band from Houston, Texas, known for their intense, raw sound and brief but impactful career. Originally started as a solo project by vocalist Rahi Geramifar in 2000, it became a full band in 2004, featuring key members like guitarists Beau Beasley—who was the primary songwriter—and drummer Dobber Beverly. They made a significant mark with their sole full-length album, *World Extermination* (2007), which they recorded in just one day. Despite breaking up in 2008 due to exhaustion, their music gained a cult following, especially after Earache Records reissued the album, exposing their ferocious grindcore style to a wider audience.
Their aggressive, primitive grindcore sound was inspired by early pioneers like Napalm Death and Anal Cunt, and they rejected the more stylized "fashion grind" trends of their time, instead going for pure, rage-fueled intensity. Over the years, Insect Warfare reunited a few times for special shows but never fully reformed, maintaining their legendary status in the grindcore community. Along with *World Extermination*, the band has had several recent releases and compilations that showcase their enduring influence and relentless energy in extreme metal circles.
