j-hope

Born Jung Ho-seok on February 18, 1994, in Gwangju, South Korea, j-hope is a prominent South Korean rapper, dancer, songwriter, and record producer, widely known as a member of the globally acclaimed boy band BTS. In addition to his role in the group, j-hope has carved out a solo career that showcases his individual artistic identity. His stage name, j-hope, symbolizes his desire to represent hope for fans, as well as to be "the hope of BTS."

J-hope made a powerful impact on the international music scene with his debut mixtape, "Hope World," in 2018. The success of this mixtape marked him as a solo artist with a distinct, vibrant, and colorful style, earning him recognition on global charts. In 2019, he released the single "Chicken Noodle Soup," featuring Becky G, which is a reinterpretation of the 2006 Webstar and Young B track; it highlights his versatility and ability to blend cultures. Fast forward to 2022, j-hope continued to delve deeper into his solo career with the release of his bold and introspective solo album, "Jack In The Box," further establishing his reputation as an artist willing to explore darker, more mature themes. The album's leading singles, "MORE," and a special HOPE Edition of the album, along with the collaborative track "on the street" with acclaimed rapper J. Cole, have shown his growth as an artist who confidently bridges the gap between K-pop and the wider hip-hop landscape. J-hope's ability to radiate positivity through his music and performances has not only broadened his artistic horizon but has also solidified his place as a global music influencer.
