Mario Patuzzi

Mario Patuzzi is an Italian-Swiss pianist born in Trento who has built an impressive career spanning decades. He began studying piano at age 7 and gave his first solo concert at 17 in 1971. Beyond his performing career, Patuzzi has been deeply involved in music education, holding principal piano positions at conservatories in Trento, Piacenza, and Como, where he taught for 25 years until 2018. He's also competed at the highest levels, winning first place in several Italian competitions and taking top honors at the 1977 International Competition in Munich.

Throughout his career, Patuzzi has maintained an active recording schedule and collaborative work, particularly with his violinist daughter Maristella. His discography spans a diverse range of classical repertoire, from the complete Chopin Études (recorded in 1984) to works by Saint-Saëns, Paganini, Bloch, and other classical composers. Beyond his solo work, he's performed as a soloist with prestigious orchestras including La Scala's orchestra in Milan and the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano, and has given masterclasses and seminars across Europe and Japan.
