Andreas Liebig

Andreas Liebig is a German organist born in 1962 in Gütersloh, Westfalen. He studied church music, focusing on organ, piano, and music theory from 1983 to 1989, with further musical training in Stuttgart. Since 2014, Liebig has been the organist at the Basel Minster, a historic medieval cathedral known for its striking red sandstone architecture. He is known for his versatility, comfortably performing both ancient and modern organ music, with a particular affection for the North German organ tradition.

Liebig has recorded works such as "De profundis: Works for Soprano & Organ," and many of his releases include sacred and classical organ music, reflecting his deep roots in church music. His repertoire spans oratorio, orchestral pieces, and fugues, highlighting his broad engagement with classical organ music traditions.
