Shai Maestro

Shai Maestro is an Israeli jazz pianist and composer whose nuanced and emotive approach to music has established him as a notable figure in the contemporary jazz scene. Born on February 5, 1987, in Israel, Maestro began playing classical piano at the age of five. His early immersion in music led him to the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts and the Berklee College of Music Summer Program. Maestro's profound love for jazz blossomed when he was a teenager, leading him to a significant role as the pianist for the Avishai Cohen Trio, with whom he played from 2006 until 2011. This period honed his skills and expanded his international recognition.

Embarking on a solo career, Shai Maestro formed his own trio and released the eponymous album "Shai Maestro Trio" in 2012, which showcased his delicate yet profound style, setting the stage for a series of critically acclaimed albums. Over the years, Maestro's discography has grown to reflect a deepening artistry, with albums such as "The Road to Ithaca" (2013), "Untold Stories" (2015), and "The Dream Thief" (2018) further cementing his reputation as a skillful composer and bandleader. Notable recent works include "Human" (2020), an album marked by its expressive range and exploratory spirit, and "Mystery and Illusions" (2022), which continues to explore the depths of human emotion and the subtleties of musical conversation. Through his work, Shai Maestro invites listeners into a world of intricate melodies and harmonies, characterized by a powerful sense of storytelling and technical brilliance.
