Sacrosanct are a British thrash metal band formed in 1988 in Wrexham, Wales. Originally called Purity of Essence, they quickly changed their name and began building a following with their intense live shows and demos. They eventually signed to Earache Records and released their debut album, "Truth is What is," in 1990. Known for their complex song structures, politically charged lyrics, and blend of thrash with progressive and technical elements, Sacrosanct carved out a unique space in the UK thrash scene. Though they never achieved mainstream success, they remain a cult favorite among thrash aficionados.
After a period of inactivity, Sacrosanct reformed in the early 2000s and have continued to release new music, including several of the albums listed above, like "Recesses for the Depraved" and "Kidron." The band continues to tour and perform, keeping their aggressive and technically proficient brand of thrash metal alive.
