El Ten Eleven

El Ten Eleven is an American post-rock duo known for their intricate, layered sound and use of looping. Formed in Los Angeles in 2004, the group consists of bassist/guitarist Kristian Dunn and drummer Tim Fogarty. They are notable for their utilization of double-neck guitars which allow Dunn to simultaneously play bass and guitar lines, alongside heavy effects and looping to create richly textured, rhythmically complex soundscapes. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2004, showcased their unique approach to music and set the tone for their future work.

Over the years, El Ten Eleven has built a reputation for their mesmerizing live performances and prolific recording output. They embody a DIY ethos, often releasing music independently, which has garnered a loyal fan base. Albums like "Transitions" and "Fast Forward” demonstrate their skill at evolving their sound while staying true to their experimental roots. Their recent releases, such as the ambitious three-part album "Tautology," reflect a mature introspection into the human condition, marked by the passage of time and the complexity of life's transitions. Although they often fly under the mainstream radar, El Ten Eleven has carved out a significant space for themselves in the instrumental music world, consistently delivering evocative and engaging work that defies easy categorization.
