DI-RECT

DI-RECT is an energetic rock band hailing from The Hague, Netherlands, which has made significant waves in the Dutch music scene since their formation in 1999. The group consists of members Jamie Westland (drums), Frans van Zoest (guitar), Bas van Wageningen (bass), Paul Jan Bakker (guitar), and Marcel Veenendaal (lead vocals), who joined the band in 2009, bringing a fresh dynamic to their sound. DI-RECT's musical style is a compelling blend of rock, pop, and alternative influences, which has garnered them a loyal fan base and critical acclaim in their home country and beyond.

Throughout their career, DI-RECT has consistently pushed the envelope, experimenting with their sound and undertaking ambitious projects, such as working with the Residentie Orkest for orchestral sessions. Their discography displays a discovaried collection of hits, reflected in their recent releases like the anthemic and contemplative "Soldier On," the vibrant reflection on nostalgia "90s Kid," and the festival-ready rocker "Wild Hearts." The band has also shown an adeptness for stirring ballads with "How My Heart Was Won" and has embraced creative reinterpretations of their music, evident in the "Naked (Orchestral Version)." With an impressive track record of high-energy live shows, creative music videos, and a propensity for musically reinventing themselves, DI-RECT remains a mainstay and a continually evolving act in the Dutch music scene.
